South Carolina State Farmers Market . 1001 Bluff Road . Columbia, SC 29201 . 803 - 799 - 3301

Welcome to www.caseplants.com, the web home of Case Plants. We hope you enjoy our site and find the information here useful!
We are a garden center located just inside the SC State Farmers Market in Columbia, SC. We are the very first garden center on the right as you enter the gate to the market. (directions) We are open year round.
For now, ( ) we are usually open from 10:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Saturday, and 1:00pm until 6:00pm on Sundays. Usually we stay later (or come in early) - but if you definitely need us after hours, call us. We do sometimes close early due to inclement weather.
If you need us to be open for you at other times, please call us (803-206-3143) so we can arrange to accommodate you. We want you to be able to get the plants you want when you are able to get them and to be happy with the selections you make. Alternate number: 803-206-3091.
We realize that for some of you we may be a little out of your way, but if you come visit, we will do everything we can to make the drive (now more than ever) worth it! For those close to us - visit several times a week - we change daily just to keep your attention.

We keep adding new items just for you, so check back often.
Have you tried Thentix yet? It's a little different for us in that it is a skin conditioner. You may wonder what this kind of product is doing in a garden center. The answer is that it is great for anyone working with plants or in a garden. This skin conditioner is not like any other you've tried - it is a natural solution for many skin problems. We've launched a web site just for it: www.thetaderm.com Next time you're in, give it a try.
The Columbia Farmers Market is still where it has been for over 50 years - it has not moved.

We are proud to present a new potting medium / soil amendment / super mulch. Starting now we will carry Coco Peat (Coir).
Coco Peat out performs regular peat and saves the peat bogs! Coco Peat is made from coconut husk fiber: a renewable by-product from the coconut harvesting process. Coco Peat makes an excellent growing medium for container plants or add it to sandy soil to increase the water holding capacity or for heavy clay soil to help break it up. Coco Peat has natural rooting hormones and anti-fungal properties.
It's easy to use. Just put your compressed Coco Peat brick in a container, add 3 - 4 gallons of water and let it sit until the water is absorbed, fluff it up and it is ready to use.
- can be used in seed starting mixes, bedding plants, planters, soil mixes, gardens and container plants. Anywhere you would use peat moss.
- is good for earthworm bedding material.
- is a good substrate for reptile or amphibian vivariums.
- is an excellent rooting material.
- holds water rather than shedding it like the traditional peat does. It holds 8-9 times it's weight in water.
- has the ability to store and release nutrient for extended periods of time. It also has great oxygenation properties which is important for healthy root development.
- is very slow to disintegrate, whereas peat breaks down within two years after application. Coco Peat only begins to break down when it is 10 years old and has a pH of 5.0 - 6.8 which is neutral to slightly acidic.
- can be used to make your own super organic potting soil (mix as desired with earthworm castings, compost, etc.).

However, the market is scheduled to move in February 2010.
It will be moving to Hwy. 321 off I-77 towards Gaston, SC.
Most of our customers do no live in that direction.
We are attempting to MOVE NOW to a more central location.
We hope you will join us soon at our new place.
Keep checking for updates.
We hope to be able to provide you with even better products and services at our new location near Elmwood Park, Cotton Town, and Earlewood, and of course Downtown Columbia.
Here's the news you've been waiting for:
YES! We ARE moving this summer! Nothing is official yet, but our new location should be somewhere near the intersection of Main St. and River Dr. The move will happen very soon. Now might be a good time to come in and buy something so we don't have to move it!
